This semester so far has been relatively "easy" compared to last semester. I'm not sure why - I guess because last semester I had patho and that took a lot of studying. I also like/know more things about women's health so I don't have to study as hard. What have I been using my extra time for....hmm....watching the Olympics!! haha.
Another thing is that I haven't been challenged near as much this semester - last semester both my clinical teachers pushed me to think/learn/analyze - now they don't really do that (my 2 new clinical profs). I am trying to work on challenging myself to get more out of my learning experience.
I did a supplementary experience at the Mother's Milk Bank in Austin and I really liked it! I am going to continue to volunteer there every Friday or every other Friday - that is really the only time that I don't have clinicals or class. I'm glad I have a little extra time to give back to the community/mothers/babies.
I'm also keeping up with the spirit of life and doing fun things pretty much every week - Rhonda's birthday, wine night, my birthday celebrations, Reed's concert (my former professor's son), Shiner's Saloon, Amanda's birthday wine night, Albert's birthday at Logans = awesome times and memories!
