Ten on Tuesday

1. If your name was a verb, what would “to Emily” mean? (Insert your own name though…)
What my friends would say would probably be "loud and crazy"

2. What myth have you always wanted to prove or bust?
Right now all I can think of is the one people said that drinking pop rocks and coke at the same time would blow up your stomach or cause you to die....but mythbusters already took care of that and it was a myth!

3. If you had the ability to get a message out to the entire world, what would you say?
Oh goodness, this one is really hard. I wish I had the creative juices flowing right now, but I don't. Maybe something about Autism awareness, donating to research, or motivating kids to get an education.

4. I know you’ve answered a similar question before, but it’s been awhile. Please name your current top 10 blogs.
None, just some of my friends or people that I have met over the years. I don't read anyones that I don't know.

5. Do you have a junk drawer?
If you consider a junk drawer one that has stuff in it that you never use, then I have plenty of those!

6. Bottled water or tap?
Tap. Bottled water is good for traveling though. But come on people, tap water is not going to kill you and really all the waters almost taste the same (minus sulfur). haha.

7. As a kid, did you have a favorite Biblical story?
Well I remember being taught about Daniel in the lion's den a lot and also the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.

8. What is your favorite black and white movie?
Yeah, definitely don't watch these. I am the kind of person that pretty much only watches new movies that come out.

9. Aside from your engagement/wedding rings, what is your favorite piece of jewelry that you own? Does it have a story behind it?
Well I don't have those, so I guess it would have to be my fish ring. I have worn it every single day for the last 5 years or so. My aunt and uncle gave it to me for my HS graduation.

10. What sports/activites do you hope your kids will be involved in? (Answer for both a boy and a girl)
It doesn't matter which is involved in which to me, but - sports (football, basketball, volleyball), any type of creative activity (band, choir, dance, art, acting), and some type of intellectual/social group (NHS, Key Club, Leos Club, Interact, mathletes). Apparently, my kids are going to be very involved, meaning a lot of driving around (and$$) for me to take them to things.

Ten on Tuesday...

Amanda (one of my friends from undergrad) has been doing this every week on Tuesday and I thought it was really cool, so I decided to join in. Yay Amanda! P.S. If you are reading this, I love all the pics of Ian - he is precious!!!

Anyways, cheers to my first Ten on Tuesday!

1. What was your high school superlative (if you didn’t have one- what would it have been)?
ummm does superlative mean the best? So if it means what I was the best at - math. What I was not good at (see me having improper grammar) - English. Obviously, because I don't know what superlative means. :)

2. What sports did you play in high school?
Basketball & Track and Field

3. What was the best part about your wedding (if you’re not married yet, what are you looking forward to)?
Not married yet, so I would have to say the reception and dancing with all my friends and family.

4. It’s your last meal– what Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Entree and Dessert would you choose?
Appetizer? hmmm I never get these, so maybe a bloomin' onion. Soup - for sure broccoli cheese. Salad - waldorf salad at CPK. Entree - I like so many! Probably chicken parmesan and dessert - brownie with homemade vanilla ice cream. These really don't go together AT ALL, but separately they sound great!

5. What song is your guilty pleasure?
Well right now....all the songs from GLEE...haha. At some points it's kind of embarrassing because they sometimes sound like a kid choir. Oh well - its fun to sing!!

6. What is your favorite professional sports team, and why do you like them?
Can I choose college? UT football. They are awesome, duh. But professional - I don't watch any so I guess I would have to say the Rockets - back in the day with Hakeem and Drexler.

7. What is your favorite reality show and why do you like it?
I have lots - guilty pleasure. I really like The Real Housewives of NYC - so "classy" haha. I get so involved with it and yell at the TV. I also like The Hills and The City. trashy TV at its finest. I also watch the competition shows like Top Chef, Shear Genius, Project Runway, and Real World/Road Rules Challenge.

8. How would you classify your home decorating style (modern, classic, french country)?
Classic? Just stuff I like, but I guess I am still in the college decorating mode. When I get a real house, it will be much nicer and more contemporary.

9. Pizza- deep dish or thin crust? White sauce or red sauce? What toppings?
Depends on my mood, but more so deep dish. Light on the red sauce. Pepperoni. (or hawaiian - canadian bacon and pineapple)

10. Favorite weekend getaway within a two hour driving radius?
haha. This is funny because I don't go anywhere - there are so many things in Austin to do too! I Other than that, I love seeing my friends in College Station, but don't like CS as a city.

Aquarius...

I'm not really one for horoscopes or "signs" or anything like that...but for some reason I am really bored right now so decided to look up Aquarius stuff. (I don't even know how I thought of this....haha.). I've read some things before and I'm like - yeah...ok...of course this is true because anyone can relate to this!! BUT this one that I looked up today is kind of creepy because I feel like it almost describes me to the "t" -

You were fortunate enough to be born under the humanitarian zodiac sign of Aquarius. You are therefore ruled by electric and progressive Uranus making you forward thinking and self-directed. You’re a born revolutionary so no one can tell you how to live your life. Your clear-cut approach makes it perfectly clear just how differently you wish to experience life.

You just don’t want to be like others and take pride in the fact that you’re so unique. Even if you’re occasionally criticised for your cheeky attitude, you’d far prefer to be self-sufficient rather than being a sheep in society who follows everyone else’s lead.

You are a zesty individual, having tremendous amounts of energy. You are determined and forceful in how you deal with people. You want to express your ground-breaking spirit in everything you do but unfortunately you won’t always able to break free of the limits that are imposed upon you. Some Aquarians learn through their family life that before you can be the master of your own destiny, you have to serve. In some extreme cases Aquarians are controlled and dominated by others throughout the formative period of their lives which is why it’s so difficult for them to submit to others.

If you’re not able to live your life on your own terms, you’ll dream and aspire to a future time when you can fulfil your destiny to the fullest in exactly the way you want. You have very inspirational views of the world and even if your opinions are too different, you’ll always be respected for speaking your mind honestly.

You share your zodiac sign with many other grand personalities. Like them you are attracted to social issues. You like to be involved in groups and organisations that make a difference in society. Even in the smallest of ways, you will try to make some difference in this world. If you look at Aquarians like Oprah Winfrey, Boris Yeltsin and entertainers like Peter Gabriel and John Travolta, they are deeply interested in changing the awareness of people to make the world a better place.

Because you have great organisational and communication skills you work really well with others. You have your own ideas and solutions to problems. Others are surprised at your quirky approach and how you resolve these issues.

You’re investigative, curious and extremely active mentally. Your thinking mind rarely, if ever, stops. You need to learn when to shut down as your brain can become overactive, especially at night.

Communication is your speciality and you relate well to the world. You will continue to enlarge your active personality so don’t try to suppress your true character – just express it prudently. You’re vigorous in the way you present your ideas so there’s never a dull moment around you. There’s often someone who wants to challenge you, especially if they happen to have a much more conventional way of doing things. You’ll be more than happy to challenge that taking great pleasure in proving them wrong.

Uranus, your planetary ruler, is abrupt and breathtaking by nature and will fill your life with plenty of unanticipated surprises - good and not so good. You like it like this and the unexpected is something you thrive upon! Even if you have a stable home or work situation you like to shake things up from time to time to keep everyone on their toes (SO TRUE). Still, you’re very loyal when it comes to your most personal relationships.

You like to create a comfortable environment in which to live. Venus influences your domestic sphere so you have a flair for design and colour. Your surroundings mirror your unique character. Others are amazed at the way you decorate your home. There’ll be nothing ordinary about it, that’s for sure.

You embrace anything technological as Aquarius governs modern appliances. You are inventive and research orientated and certainly aren't a technophobe. If you’re an Aquarian male, some may even call you the “gadget man”. You like to be up to date with the latest and greatest handheld devices, computers and other audio or visual entertainment equipment.

You find it difficult to uphold relationships with those who aren’t prepared to evolve in the same way as yourself. Due to this you’ll be continually re-inventing yourself, trying to stimulate your friends to be better. Your rigid opinions bring you into disagreement with others. One of the laws of power suggests that you must act like others, but don’t always openly air your thoughts. It’s a good idea for you to keep some of their sweeping ideals tucked away until you test the water first.

There’s a universal quality about you. Although you appear aloof and detached you're inwardly sensitive and caring. You prefer to associate with people who share the same diverse views on life. Your life will almost certainly never be drab. You are able to embrace anything new including music and fashion. This is why you’ll always be young at heart. (Yep, I'm just a big ole kid!)

Married?

Just a side-post - everyone and their mother is either getting married or having kids. I kid you not, every time I log on to facebook I find out that someone is preggars, engaged, married, having another kid, divorced, remarried, I don't even know.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'm happy for them, but then I'm like - should I be jumping on this bandwagon?! haha. I am just in a totally different place in my life right now, but it's weird seeing all of this going on around me. Anyways, just thought everyone should know that the cool thing now-a-days is to get knocked up. :)
